Laser Fiber Optics

If I was to summarize its properties at one go: It’s reliable, fast, and is easier to maintain. laser fiber optics in fact is today’s top class means of transmission.

Due to its reliability, layers of sophisticated fibers are used throughout the world with hopes of improving means of communication. Its high resistance and high bandwidth, makes the its unique against its competitor, copper wires. Signals do not get amplified or distracted in any other way therefore, a prominent factor in laser fiber optics is its convinience and the speed measured in gigabytes per second.

Educational institutes, universities, television services providers and also cable services providers and many other industries that require a reliable and high quality networking are opting for a laser fiber optics network.

Laser fiber optics work in a very simple manner and it consists of three components known as trasmitter, data cable and the receiver. Transmitter will receive an electrical pulse of a signal and translate it to a light pulse. This light pulse will then be emitted by a light emitting diode or another method of light emission. Once the light pulse is received by the other end, it is turned back in to an electric pulse, ready to be received by the receiver. In short, laser fiber optics are used for high speed communications.

Due to 100% reflection of the glass fibers in the core, laser fiber optics do their job without losing energy on the way. This is where they will score more compared to copper wires where energy is wasted for heat as well.

But as of today laser & fiber optics are only used for industrial purposes in large industries. It’s usage has not yet been introduced to mundane , people like you and me. However, in time to come, laser fiber optics is something that we can definitely look forward to, even for home use.
